Although we do not do alterations ourselves, we do offer alterations through The Red Thread Alterations of Finlayson. Wende and her associates are happy to set up an appointment with you here at the Rush City shop to do any alterations you may need.  They specialize in "Everything from wedding gowns to Carhartts."

Some policies and procedures to keep in mind:

FOR ALL FITTINGS: Be sure to bring and wear the proper undergarments (shoes and bra) at your fitting. All undergarments will change the way our dress fits you and are essential for a proper fit.

For wedding gown alterations, expect a minimum of 3 fittings. The Red Thread requests that you set up your first appointment 6-8 weeks before your wedding date. This gives the gals and you enough time to decide, finalize, and do the necessary alterations to make your dress fit perfectly.

For bridesmaids and special occasion alterations, expect a minimum of 2 fittings. The Red Thread requests that you set up your first appointment 4-6 weeks before the event date.

Before The Red Thread, the dress pictured above had a completely closed back and only a side zipper. At the customers request, The Red Thread gals created this lace up back  and shortened the hem line to make this dress tea length.
